Dividend Achievers List

by

What is the Dividend Achievers List?

The Nasdaq US Broad Dividend Achievers are a list of companies which have increased their dividend for 10 or more consecutive years, listed in the NYSE or Nasdaq, and meet minimum trading volume liquidity requirements.

Push pin showing the direction on the road to achieving success

If you want to rely on just one Dividend List, the Dividend Achievers List would be the most complete because it includes most stocks that have 10+ consecutive years of dividend increases. The Dividend Kings, Dividend Aristocrats, Dividend Champions, and Dividend Contenders segment their stocks with different requirements.

Dividend Achievers History

The list was originally developed by Moody’s Investor Service in 1979. In 1998, the company was acquired by Mergent Inc. and rebranded. Nasdaq acquired the brand in 2012 and continued to develop its influence and notoriety.

Methodology information is available on the Nasdaq website. Their fact sheet indicates 265 securities in the index, although I have found it difficult to find an accurate list.

How the Arbor Investment Planner Uses the Index

Below you will find the list of Dividend Achievers. The Dividend Value Builder database includes every Dividend Achiever (excluding Financial Service stocks**).

Each Dividend Analyzer issue provides a Dividend Safety, Profitability, Valuation, and Total Score for 300+ stocks. My personal Excel Sortable Spreadsheet provides a breakdown of each Dividend Analyzer metric for each stock. This makes it easy to utilize as little or as much detail as you wish. You won’t find this with any other Dividend Premium Service .

**Financial Services stocks are excluded from analysis. We learned in the 2007-09 financial meltdown that financial companies are black boxes that are impossible for investors to analyze or understand. For this reason, and more, I do not invest in financial stocks.
